Join me on my walk along the Thames Path: 23-31 October 2021

This is Thames Rambling, a daily pop-up newsletter covering my walk along the Thames Path. The plan is to ramble across the British landscape for nine days, or roughly 300km (185mi) from the river’s source in the Cotswolds to the Thames Barrier, where the National Trail officially ends. Every day, I’ll send a dispatch of uncertain makeup.

Truth is, I’ve never done this before: trekking around for days on end, mostly with nobody else to talk to but myself. I don’t know what it’ll do to my body or mind, or if I’ll even be able to get past day one - which, even if all things go to plan, will be arduous. What I do know is that I’ll have my trusty camera slung around my torso at all times, so you can expect the one or other photo to flutter from the trail into your inbox. Whatever happens, this will be a memorable experience I’d love to share with you to whatever extent I’ll be able to after a long day on my feet.

If your interests just so happen to include the odd and niche intersection of hiking, photography, and the commentary of an oversharing Austrian, sign up. We’ll take the first step on 23rd October and should finish by Halloween.

See you soon!
